Who Are Naomi Paul Studio?

Due to the 100% Design exhibition, there have been many small names which have become big names. One of these names is Naomi Paul Studio. So who are they, or should we start off with 'Who is she'?

Naomi Paul grew up on a farm in Sussex with a mix of German and English descent. She always knew that she had a passion for design and studied graphic design, and then went on to gain a degree in Constructed Textile Design. She was named 'Young Designer of The Year 2012' by Homes & Garden Design Awards for her OMI Pendant Collection, and was the winner of the 'Furniture and Interior Accessory Award 2012' by World Architecture News.

Naomi Paul Studio is an interior and textile design company founded by, you guessed it, Naomi Paul back in 2012. Naomi founded the company upon the basis of creating hand crafted and innovative items for the home and workplace which serve a purpose. The company's ethos is to create products with good design, a skilled craftsmanship, and have longevity. And I believe she has created just that with all her products bringing aesthetics to any room.

Naomi believes in only using sustainable, raw, and recycled materials for her products and is the focal point of the design process. Along with this they take careful consideration when it comes to selecting a responsible packaging for their goods.

Naomi Paul Studio are best known for their quirky lighting range.

The Sonne and the Hanna are hanging pendant that are part of the Naomi Paul Studio OMI pendant collection. These great pieces are what won Naomi her award back in 2012. The Sonne and Hanna are handcrafted, minimal flat pack pendants that evolved from the desire to create lighting that is timeless, playful and quietly opulent.

Both pendants are constructed by hand using traditional crochet techniques.

The Steamer was a commissioned revival project. The chairs were found discarded and Naomi Paul Studio restored and lacquered them and gave them new canvas straps to the back and base of the frame. They also upholstered the chair with a giant purled knitted mohair cushion feather filled and backed with felted wool.

The Pepper Hand is a giant hand knitted floor cushion made up of natural, unbrushed, undyed Mohair with black wool flecks, a velvet base, beanbag or feather filled insides.
