Petite Potence - Jean Prouvé, 1947
Originally designed by Jean Prouvé for his own home in Nancy, the Potence lamp features a minimalist composition: a bare bulb mounted on a long, swiveling steel arm, supported by a steel wire. Rooted in functionalist principles, this pared-down design was later adapted into various sizes, with larger versions including a handle to ease movement.
The Petite Potence retains the proportions of the larger Potence model but is scaled for more compact spaces. With a 103 cm swing arm and a durable powder-coated finish in colours inspired by Prouvé’s original palette, it combines timeless form with modern utility. A textile-covered cable and dimmable LED bulb complete the design. Its minimal aesthetic makes it a versatile lighting solution, suitable for everything from dining areas and living rooms to workspaces and cafés.
